Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a non-invasive discipline that helps individuals develop, maintain and restore maximum body movement and physical function. Physical Therapy can help clients recover from an injury, relieve pain, prevent future injury or deal with a chronic condition. It can be applied at any age or stage of life. The ultimate goal of physical therapy is to improve health and quality of life.

We specialize in manual therapy which includes visceral manipulation. You will work directly with a Physical Therapist for the duration of your session. Each visit will include an initial evaluation, postural analysis, and manual assessment of soft tissue, visceral and joint mobilization. A personalized instruction and home program to help you reach you goals will also be included.

We offer a different model than most Physical Therapist. We get to the core to get movement back quickly. We take the time to see the big picture, and understand the deeper issues that could have occurred as a result of a car accident, childhood injury or post partum depression.  If you had a hard time with childbirth and have scare tissue from a C-section that basic pain, and, no connection to your pelvic floor can cause excruciating pain. We can help to resolve that pain. With 30 + years experience solving problems we are trained to find your pain points much faster and work diligently to remove your pain movement dysfunction faster than an average Physical Therapist.

Discover Visceral Manipulation

What is Visceral Manipulation (VM)?

Visceral Manipulation or VM, is a gentle manual therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restriction and unhealthy compensations that cause pain and dysfunction. VM does not focus solely on the site of pain or dysfunction, but elevates the entire body to find the source of the problem.

Gentle manual therapy that assesses the structural relationships between the viscera (organs), and their fiscial or ligamentous attachments to the various systems in the body.

Assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive, eliminatory, neuroendocrine and lymphatic dysfunction. ‘Viscera’ relates to the internal organs of the body, such as the liver, kidneys and intestines.

How Many Visceral Manipulation Sessions Does It Take?

As each person’s situation is different, the number of visits will vary. Many people experience significant improvement within three to five therapy session; others may require additional treatment. You and your practitioner will develop a plan based on your needs and how your body responds to treatment.

What Does It Visceral Manipulation Feel Like?

VM, is a soft, hands-on manual therapy. Underneath the pain or diagnosis is a compensatory pattern created in the body with the initial source if the dysfunction often being far from where the pain is felt. Because of this, the practitioner searches for this pattern and the source, and treats the related tissues. The treatment is a gentle compression, mobilization and elongation of the soft tissues. As the source of the problem is released, the symptoms will start to decrease.
